• Dr. Whipple was the invited Keynote Speaker at the annual meeting of orthopaedic surgeons in Sugarloaf, Maine ski resort in February. To a full house of peers and colleagues, he addressed future developments in orthopaedic surgery in a presentation titled “Beyond the Scalpel.” He also lectured on potential solutions to the inherent conflict between the insurance industry and the health care industry, including the possibility of age-specific, risk-specific specialty insurance products.
